I did agree to not be me,
It’s the only way to lose,
It’s such a habit to deny myself,
Now I walk in another’s shoes.

Been doing it such a long time,
Complaining just a symptom of,
Refusing to face my climb.

I did agree to hide myself,
Maybe that is why I greave.

The loss of self so deep,
The climb on back to who I am,
I’ve been too long asleep.

I wake on up in pieces,
It’s hard to find just me,
A glimpse of self, some hope is born,
I’m coming back to be.

I did agree to not be me,
No wonder I’ve trouble seeing,
A frightening thought but oh so true,
Now that climb is just start being.
