David Lingabee Songs & Songwriting

Song#: 6

Album
Name of Song: A missing piece

Such loss,
We have endured,
Unspeakable acts,
Unforgivably lured.

Such memories blocked,
By waves of pain and sex,
One puts up a wall,
The other a safe annex.

Encapsulated memories
Of what was done to us,
A violence now not seen,
We’re told don’t make a fuss.

Agreements hard as diamonds,
We know they can’t be broke,
So everyone leaves them alone
and continue blowing smoke.

Those times best left forgotten,
Too much for us to see,
Words laid in so we forget,
Locked in by waves of glee.

Sins seem oh so righteous,
A way to easy blame,
But what about what was done to us
that made us seem the same.

I challenge all those naysayers,
To prove they’re oh so clean,
And blaming us for sins of past
solves nothing it would seem.

There’s two sides to every story,
Ignore at your own risk,
Listening to what was done to you
is part of what you did.

There’s two sides to every story,
Ignore at your own risk,
Listening to what was done to you
is part of what you did.

There’s two sides to every story,
Ignore at your own risk,
Listening to what was done to you
is part of what you did.
